It’s finally winter here in my area of Montana. It has been below zero every day since February 1st and within the last week and a half the snow has reached at least 30 inches! Now, today, the temp is going to be in the 50’s with major flooding in some areas around the rivers and streams. We have been experiencing drought here for several years so the moisture is really needed, so I can’t complain. It’s been a challenge trying to figure out when the growing season starts and ends here in my zone 4b growing area. The weather patterns are changing world wide and Mother Nature is learning to adapt….and so must we.
I stepped back a little last year from growing as much produce as I had in the past as the physical requirements of farming were taking a toll on my body! However, growing food and medicine and all that comes with that is part of my DNA. Being out in nature is the best healer! It’s my happy place! I will continue to grow certain crops for myself, and a few niche crops for chefs and to be made into my culinary value added product line.

I will again be offering transplants of organic heirloom tomatoes, peppers and herbs. I will send info when my website is updated and the pre-sale begins. I do not ship, so only local sales are available with pick up at the gardens around mid to late May.

The 2024 harvest was not as bountiful as in previous years, but I was still able make many wonderful culinary goodies. You know how much I love to cook! I still have a nice selection of sauces, chutneys, jams, syrups, fruit and herb vinegars available for purchase and they can be found on my website. All can be shipped.

New this year is a selection of culinary and medicinal dried herbs. If there is interest, I am hoping to expand on these next season.
